Updates to Desire2Learn Help for 9.1.0

Analytics Portal tool (added November)

The new Analytics Portal is for displaying reports from the Analytics environment directly inside Learning Environment.

ePortfolio HTML presentations (new feature)

Export your ePortfolio presentations to HTML to keep a copy of your presentation in a viewable format external to the system. Learn more about exporting presentations to HTML.

Content Browser widget (new feature)

This system widget enables you to browse course content and view bookmarked topics from your course homepage. Learn more about the Content Browser widget.

Changes to existing features

Email notification for Discussions tool

You can now receive email notifications for discussion forums, threads, or messages that you want to follow. The new feature sends emails to your external email, which provides an opportunity for you to follow a discussion when you’re not logged into the system. You can configure the notifications to be sent immediately when new discussion items are posted or as a daily digest of activity. See Finding and reading messages.

Manage Dates

Manage Dates boasts more intuitive filter controls and form fields in the Offset Dates and Edit Dates dialogs. See About Manage Dates.

Export and Import Course Components

The system now exports and imports navigation bar templates. See Exporting course components.

HTML Editor

Using the HTML Editor Insert Stuff button you can now insert media files from within your current org unit file path, from within your current organization file path, and from within your shared files root path. See Inserting audio and video files in the HTML Editor.

Manage Dates (new feature)

Now you can quickly view and change availability dates for your course objects in one central location. Learn more about Manage Dates.

Changes to existing features

Content permissions in Manage Files

You can create protected folders in Manage Content to store private files. Learn more about applying content permissions on folders.

Additional identifier field in Competencies

Competencies and learning objectives contain a new field to accommodate references to published academic standards. See Creating a competency or Creating a learning objective to view where this field is.

Copy Course Components

When you copy course components, the system now also copies activities for competencies. See Copy Course Components Between Org Units.
