Procedure for Proposing a WMST 4100 Special Topics Course

To propose a course to be offered under the WMST 4100 Special Topics rubric, submission must be received by the Women’s Studies Coordinating Committee and include:

1)     cover letter explaining how and why the course fits more properly under the Women’s Studies rubric than within an individual department, and how the course promotes the Mission Statement of and Learning Outcomes for the minor (see website at http://www.tnstate.edu/womenstudies);

2)     a copy of the vita of the professor who will teach the course;

3)     a complete copy of the proposed syllabus with sample course schedule; and

4)     a letter of permission from the faculty member’s department chair approving the release time for this course.

All parts of the submission must be received by no later December 1st for classes proposed for the following fall semester, and by January 15th for classes proposed for the following spring semester. Summer courses will not be considered at this time.
