(Each session is approximately 2 hours)
Microsoft Windows – The Basics
This course covers basic parts
of the Microsoft Windows operating system including desktop organization, file
location, utility operations and other information.
PC File Management & Organization
Are you tired of losing important
documents? Is your desktop crazy with
loose files? Learn how to organize those
scattered files in this session on file management. This course covers the basic storage
management skills to organize files.
Information shared in this class will be on folders and file management,
backing up, deleting moving and copying files.
Building Better Documents with Microsoft Word
This course covers the basics
of word processing using Microsoft Word.
Topics include: creating a Word
file, opening, formatting, and saving a document, and saving a document for
publishing as a web page.
Introduction to Microsoft Outlook
Learn the basic skills for
using Microsoft Outlook! This session
will include information on composing e-mail, sending to recipients, deleting old
mail, sending attachments with your mail, creating distribution lists and
contacts.
EXCEL~ling
with Spreadsheets
This course covers basic spread
sheets using Microsoft Excel. Included
in this topic will be adding data to a sheet, adding more worksheets, using
rows and columns, and formatting cells.
Microsoft Access – An Introduction to Databases
This course covers how to
create a basic data base for managing records using Microsoft Access. Participants will create a simple
database. Topics discussed
will be tables, fields, data entry queries and forms.
Creating Effective Presentations with Microsoft
PowerPoint
This course covers creating a
basic presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Included in the session will be selecting designs, formatting, slides
and slide shows.
Developing and Managing Websites with FrontPage
This course provides an overview of MS
FrontPage basics. Participants will be creating a simple website using the
visual authoring tools in MS FrontPage. Topics covered in this course include
how to create and save new pages, lay out pages, add content to web pages, add
text links between pages, and publish the website. No knowledge of HTML is
assumed.
Introduction to Adobe Acrobat Professional
This introductory course will cover converting
PDF files and basic editing techniques.
WebCT Content Management
In this WebCT session the following
topics will be discussed: preparing
backups for your course and uploading content into your course shell for the
upcoming semester.
